When I discovered Tessa Afshar's books, I was transported to Biblical times. This was never a era of time that I cared too much to read fiction about. But she changed that for me. She has a gift from bringing this period to life that is so real, so detailed, that you are immediately transported there in a way that you can't imagine.
In Tessa Afshar's latest book "Thief of Corinth" she takes us to the first century. The story centers on Ariadne, a young woman who escapes her abuse Mom in Athens, to run to her father in the corrupt city of Corinth. Once there she finds out that her father has a deep dark secret, which she soon finds herself entangled in. A man of faith named Paul comes to the city with a unique message of hope. And it's exactly what Ariadne needs.
With such authentic research, this book is full of adventure & well thought out characters.
I received this book from Tyndale for my honest review.
