"Where Lilacs Still Bloom" by Jane Kirkpatrick was not an easy book for me to get into. I like for a book to grab me from the beginning. This one took a while to peek my interest and hold my attention. That disappointed me since I love to read things written by Jane Kirkpatrick. Once the story began to move, I began to learn so much. It was a lovely story Hulda Klager who was German immigrant and farm wife who only had an 8th grade education. She went on the develop hundreds of hybrid fruit & flowers. But her specialty was the lilac. The book is beautifully written & I ended up really enjoying it.
