Day 1 "Contained" of "Rise Up" from @illustratedfaith

Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:15-16

I think this scripture is often taken differently that is was intended. Being a light, isn't telling people how they should live. Or quoting scriptures. Condemning them for their actions. It's about allowing the inner light of Jesus shine in how we live our life. In the everyday. The small moments & big ones. How we are in traffic. They way we treat that person who is walking too slow & blocking the aisles at the grocery store. The waiter where we eat. The person who is obviously not of the same race or religion as us. How we act on social media. How we are accepting within the walls of our church. And to the nitty gritty...How we are at home. With our family. The way our light should shine, shouldn't be one of picking & choosing when it should be brilliantly bright. It should just always be that way. For everyone to see, no matter who they are. Let your light... The light of Jesus flood the spaces where you are. Let it escape not only the confines of our hearts, but the boundaries of our lives. Rise up & shine bold, bright & lovingly! Be that overzealous candle!

P.S. This is my first entry in my interleaved Bible! I am in love!
