The Midwife's Tale~Book Review

First off, the cover art is perfection, It drew me in instantly. I really enjoy stories about midwives, because I believe that they are truly the unsung heros of generations. So needless to say, that I was really looking forward to reading this book. The first chapter really held my attention, so I had high hopes for the rest of the book. It was good, but just not incredible. It was a nice little book to read. It's not one that I would seek out the sequel for. Martha Cade is a woman who is strong-willed, I think partly because she had to be with the death of her husband & the raising of her two children. Because her profession demanded most of her attention, her own children didn't get it. Her daughter runs away while, Martha is once again bringing a new little life into the world. As she returns home from searching for the daughter, she returns to disaster, after disaster, which tests her faith greatly. She almost falls apart, but the strong will keeps her going & she never gives up.
