Life As We Know It...Now

D has been at his new job for 2 weeks now & things are going well. His boss said that he has never had someone learn the job so quickly & well enough to be left on his own. The last guy he trained it took 4 months. Go D!

He's still working at the radio station, finishing out the baseball season. He has a couple of weeks left of that. His days have been super long. 7am-11pm, with no off days, until this week. He will continue to work at the radio station here & there. He loves it there & doesn't want to have to give it, plus they don't want to lose him. It will be a blessing because at his new job there are slow times, especially around the holidays (like this week). Extra income will be a treasure for sure!

I am soooo proud of him. Throughout this saga he is always been willing to work anywhere, at any price to be able to provide. And the entire time he has done so with a humble spirit & joyful heart. God blessed me with a one of a kind fella.

Things got desperate folks, I am not going to lie. I recently learned just how much so & the job couldn't not have come at a better time. But the Lord carried us through it & is still supplying for all of our needs. Just because D now has a good full time job, does not mean we are out of the woods...There is a whole lot of catching up to do.

When we found out D was going to have to wear a suit & tie for work, I thought "OK Lord....D does not own one lick of dress clothing. We don't have the funds to go buy everything. What are we going to do?" Within hours someone quite special, I might add, had a suit, dressing shirt & tie for D. I was overjoyed. Then 4 pair of shoes were given...2 used, 2 brand new. I was overwhelmed. God provided the suit & shoes, now for the other trimmings. Since I have never bought men's dress clothing before, I never really thought about all that went into it, much less the prices. Everyone knows I love a good deal & I do not pay full prices for anything, so I was excited to be able to build D's wardrobe on a strict budget. We went shopping & found packs of Jockey black dress socks for 70 cents at T.J. Maxx! We hit the thrift store, JCP, T.J. Maxx, Target & Ross. And came home with 21 pair of socks, 1 belt, 7 ties, 5 shirts & 3 pair of pants for a little over $100!!!! How awesome is that????

Now ironing D's clothes is part of my weekly chores... I told him that since it is I need a new hot pink iron! And this is the one I want...
You know THAT would make ironing a little more pleasant. :)

I am looking forward with great anticipation for our insurance to kick in. By the time it does, we will have gone 1 year without it. And in this year my body has completely rebelled against me. I'm sure part of it was stress induced. But I'm ready for a health/body makeover. I feel like my life has been on hold for the last 10 months & I am ready to live again.

For those that used to read my Baby Hopes blog, I opened it up again & posted for the first time in a year, if you want to check it out.
