Junk Yard Dream

The other night I had a dream that I was in the middle of a junk yard, sitting at a bistro table with a white table cloth & I was eating a piece of zebra cake from Joe's Italian. In the dream each bite I took was overwhelmingly rich & amazing. I could actually taste it. It was the best cake I have ever eaten. It was perfect. I kept thinking, "I wanted the strawberry cake, but this is better than I ever dreamed it to be!" Then I woke up.

I posted some about this dream on facebook & a friend said that maybe it meant that, I find a way to see & enjoy the good things in life no matter what circumstances I find myself in.

I think that is true. I do try to dwell in the simple pleasures & being grateful, verses looking at the other messes of life.

Then I started thinking about the dream even further...
One of the things I want to do before moving is to have a piece of that strawberry cake from Joe's. I have never had the zebra cake, but have heard about how delicious it is. In the dream I was enjoying & loving something new. It was exciting.....Thrilling almost with every new bite. I didn't get what I wanted (the strawberry cake), but was given something far better. Something that was beyond my imagination. Sorta symbolic don'tcha think?

So as I sit in the middle of my junk yard (my house & emotional state of mind), I am looking forward to having a piece of cake & I may just have to try a piece of that zebra one.

  1. Nothing like having your cake and eating it too. :)

  2. That is inspiring Crystal! I love it, and I think that is a great outlook to have on any situation!Btw...what is Joe's?

  3. I've been thinking a lot about you lately. I see that you are moving! WOW! I know God will take care of you through this transition. I miss seeing you on FB. Anyway, know I'm still praying for you. Oh & I hope you don't mind but... I nominated you for an award over on my blog (! =)

    Good luck in Memphis! =)

  4. You go girl! Eat that cake!

I think that dream is incredily symbolic and that cake is a metaphor for an exciting new life ahead. I can't wait to read about your new adventures and what God has in store for you.

I hope to see you in March!
